Aqua Equus Brochure
A century ago, the grounds of The Equus stood as a stately private refuge for cattle ranchers and cowboys. Once known as The Hawaii Polo Inn, The Equus is a historic hotel in Waikiki, and is the latest addition to Aqua Hotels group of boutique hotels.
Standing ten stories and nestled amid the tropical foliage and bustling island city of Waikiki, The Equus is a serene haven with bamboo- and Ralph Lauren-inspired décor in honor of its equestrian heritage.
While tranquility rules at The Equus, adventure abounds with guided beachfront horseback tours, hiking the trails of Diamond Head, and world-class golf courses nearby. The Equus is centrally located to satisfy every want.
Situated near just about everything, The Equus is an ideal base for afternoons of adventure. Ala Moana Mall is within walking distance, as is Ala Moana Beach Park, where you can enjoy surfing or sunning. Here on business? The Hawaii Convention Center is right around the corner. Whatever your whim, the hotel's friendly staff can help you plan a spectacular Oahu vacation.

Between the boutique hopping and surf lessons (or long meetings!), you'll find a tantalizing maze of culinary excursions. Brunch at the Wailana Coffee House, enjoy authentic Thai curry at nearby Singha Thai Restaurant, or sip a bit of sake over dinner at Kobe Steakhouse. |
| Our Sales Manager Chris Says ... The Aqua Equus may be located in an older building, however the interiors have been nicely decorated with a collection of modern pieces and antique Chinese furniture. Like the other Aqua properties the hotel does not "nickel and dime" for amenities such as in-room high speed internet and WiFi, coffee, daily continental breakfast and more. The owners are definitely horse aficionados and offer complimentary polo tickets when in season. It is also just a short walk to the beach, convention center and Ala Moana shopping center. |
| Our Owner John Says ... This hotel is one of Aqua's newly renovated "boutique" hotels, and it features interesting furnishings combined with modern conveniences, and the kind of intimate feel you can get only with a small hotel. One of the owners has furnished many of the 68 rooms with Chinese antique furniture she shopped for in Asia. The owners are also very much "horse people" with a strong connection with Polo, thus the Equus name (which means horse in Greek) and the many horse and paniolo themed photos and art pieces on the walls of the rooms and hallways. All of this makes for an interesting collage of styles in the rooms, which actually works. The location is along busy Ala Moana Boulevard, which is convenient but can be noisy, but it's also near the Hawaii Convention Center and Ala Moana Center. Nice features include complimentary daily continental breakfast and in-room high speed internet. |
